Thank you so much to NetGalley, Victory Editing Netgalley Co-Op, and the author, Elise Eliot, for providing me with an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Game On by Elsie Eliot was an interesting read, though it ultimately felt like a three-star experience for me. The story had some intriguing elements, but, there were aspects that left me feeling somewhat detached from the characters and plot.

The book follows Millie Barlowe, a thirty-something single mom of two, who finds herself at a crossroads after losing her job again. Tired of the real estate industry, she contemplates a new career path, but an unexpected opportunity comes her way, offering her more financial stability than she's ever had. With a new job and a budding romance with an attractive realtor, things seem to be looking up.

However, as Millie navigates this new phase in her life, she faces challenges that test her resilience and ethics. She finds herself tangled in a web of greed and manipulation, leading her to question the integrity of those around her. Throughout the story, Millie's best friend Paige plays a significant role in guiding her decisions. It often felt like Millie couldn't make choices without Paige's input, which was frustrating. I would've loved to see Millie grow more independent and develop her own perspectives, especially during critical moments.

The narrative also had some inconsistencies, particularly in portraying Millie's financial situation. Despite being described as struggling at the start of her book, her lifestyle sometimes seemed relatively luxurious, including the way Millie judges some less fortunate real states which felt contradictory since she didn't come from a rich family herself. Additionally, the initial attraction between Millie and her love interest, Luca, felt a bit shallow, making it difficult to fully engage with their relationship.

I often feel like Imogen, growing up as a people pleaser, constantly striving to discover my true self while battling persistent impostor syndrome. People tend to question me without giving me the space to find my own answers.

Imogen Scott, prides herself on being the ultimate ally, deeply involved in Pride Alliance meetings and queer media discourse, often outpacing even her very queer little sister in knowledge.

Imogen's allyship is showcased through her close friendships with Gretchen, who helps her stay aware of her biases, and Lili, a newly out college student thriving in her new environment. When visiting Lili on campus, Imogen's commitment to being a supportive ally is put to the test when Lili tells her college friends that she and Imogen used to date, a fabrication that leads to unexpected self-discovery.

As Imogen interacts with Tessa, Lili’s best friend, she begins to question her own sexuality, realizing that her previously assumed "straight" identity may not be as clear-cut as she thought. Albertalli's portrayal of Imogen's journey is both relatable and thought-provoking, offering readers a heartfelt exploration of what it means to understand oneself truly.

Thank you to Netgalley the Publisher, of Summer Stars Publishing, and the author Philippa Young, for providing and allowing me to review this book. Which, I'm giving my honest and sincere review.

More Than Shipmates has a vibrant and inviting cover – it truly is the most beautiful summer cover I have ever seen.

The story follows Eliza Chapman, who feels she's never quite measured up in life. Failing to get into drama school, struggling with relationships, and even faltering in her role as her brother’s PA, Eliza is ready for a change. She decides to start fresh as an entertainment host on a six-month Caribbean cruise, embracing the motto “work hard, play hard.”

Eliza is determined to keep her romantic life separate from her professional life, swearing off men entirely. However, her resolve is tested as she navigates the dynamic and sometimes scandalous nightlife of the cruise, where she finds herself caught between the charming Brit, Oscar, and the cheeky American, Tom. The chemistry and tension between the characters create a steamy and captivating romantic comedy.

One of the plot’s strongest points is the well-drawn character development and the evolving relationships. Eliza's journey of self-discovery and her efforts to break free from her past mistakes are both relatable and inspiring. Her growth throughout the book is evident as she learns to balance her career ambitions with her personal desires, ultimately realizing that it's possible to have both success and love without compromising on either.

The interactions with Tom and Oscar are filled with wit, humor, and a genuine sense of connection, making the reader eagerly turn pages to see how things unfold. The romance is steamy yet tasteful, and the comedic elements are perfectly timed, adding light-hearted moments that balance out the tension. There are plenty of steamy situations that make it clear this is an adult book, from late-night escapades to intense, flirtatious encounters that push Eliza's resolve to its limits. Although I’m not usually a fan of love triangles, this one was exceptionally well done and kept me engaged.

Philippa Young masterfully captures the essence of starting over and the excitement of new beginnings, all set against the backdrop of a luxurious Caribbean cruise. The setting itself adds a layer of escapism, transporting readers to a world of sun, sea, and endless possibilities.

"More Than Shipmates" is a delightful read, perfect for anyone looking for a tension-filled, romantic comedy set against the backdrop of a tropical adventure. It’s a story about finding oneself, embracing change, and opening up to love, no matter how unexpected it might be.

Thank you to Netgalley the Publisher, of Dreamscape Media, and the author Katie Bailey for providing and allowing me to review this book. Which, I'm giving my honest and sincere review.

I was instantly captivated by the charming premise and relatable characters. This delightful rom-com had me laughing, swooning, and rooting for love from start to finish.

Summary: Holly Greene is on a determined quest to find her Prince Charming. Her detailed plan for happily ever after doesn’t include falling for a bad-boy bartender like Jax Grainger. Jax is everything Holly is not looking for: witty, smart-mouthed, and a staunch non-believer in love. He’s the quintessential bad boy who views love as nothing more than a four-letter word.

Holly, however, is undeterred. After Jax rescues her from a disastrous date, she realizes that he could be the perfect ally in her search for Mr. Right. Despite not checking any of her boxes, Jax agrees to help Holly navigate the dating scene. The catch? Holly just needs to stick to her plan and avoid falling for the charming bartender herself.

Review: "The Quit List" is an absolute gem. From the very first page, I found myself hooked by Katie Bailey’s engaging writing style and the undeniable chemistry between Holly and Jax. Holly is endearing in her determination to find true love, and her interactions with Jax are both hilarious and heartwarming. Jax, with his bad boy charm and hidden depths, makes for an irresistible love interest.

The dynamic between Holly and Jax is the highlight of the book. Their banter is sharp, witty, and often laugh-out-loud funny. Holly’s earnest quest for love juxtaposed with Jax’s cynical view of romance creates a perfect tension that keeps you eagerly turning pages. As they navigate Holly’s list of potential suitors, the growing attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore.

Bailey does a fantastic job of developing her characters, making them feel real and relatable. Holly’s optimism and determination are inspiring, while Jax’s gradual softening and vulnerability add depth to his character. The supporting cast, including Holly’s friends and the various dates she goes on, add color and humor to the story.

The plot is well-paced, balancing humor and heart in equal measure. Holly’s journey to find love is filled with both comedic mishaps and poignant moments, making for a thoroughly enjoyable read. The eventual realization of Holly and Jax’s feelings for each other is satisfying and heartwarming, providing the perfect conclusion to their story.

Conclusion: Reading "The Quit List" by Katie Bailey was a delightful experience. It’s a heartwarming and hilarious rom-com that explores the unpredictability of love and the importance of finding someone who truly understands you. If you’re a fan of witty banter, charming characters, and feel-good romance, this book is a must-read. It’s a reminder that sometimes love can be found in the most unexpected places and that the journey to finding it can be just as rewarding as the destination.

I wasn't prepared for what I was about to read. "Satan's Affair" by H.D. Carlton is a gripping and darkly imaginative addition to the Cat and Mouse series. The story revolves around a macabre traveling carnival that brings thrills and chills across the country. This isn't your typical haunted house attraction; it's a deadly game orchestrated by a mysterious and sinister figure who sees himself as a purifier, cleansing the world of evil through brutal executions.

The narrative is intense and disturbing, diving deep into the psyche of the protagonist who hides within the walls of the carnival, executing those he deems corrupt. The blend of horror, suspense, and psychological torment makes for a compelling read that is both terrifying and enthralling. Carlton's writing style is vivid and evocative, painting a chilling picture of the dark world within the carnival.

The book opens with an eerie and gripping introduction:

"Every Halloween, Satan's Affair will come to you. We travel the country, offering terrifying haunted houses, thrilling rides, and the tastiest food. And with every passing town, I cleanse this world, one execution at a time. I hide within the walls, casting my judgment on those that reek of evil, singing lullabies to their rotting souls. Once you've been chosen, there's no escaping my henchmen—they cater to my every desire. You can run and you can hide, but it only excites me. Come. Walk through my dollhouse, where your screams will blend and your cute little pleas will go unanswered. But I can't promise it'll be over quickly..."

This chilling passage sets the stage for the horror in "Satan's Affair." It introduces the traveling carnival, known as Satan's Affair, which visits different towns every Halloween. Behind its façade of entertainment and fun, a darker purpose is at play. The protagonist, who hides within the walls of the carnival, sees himself as a judge and executioner, eliminating those he deems evil. The introduction promises a harrowing journey for anyone who dares to enter the carnival, where their screams and pleas will go unanswered. The malevolent excitement of the protagonist at the prospect of his victims' fear and suffering is palpable, setting a dark tone for the story.

Overall, "Satan's Affair" is a thrilling ride that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, blending horror and psychological suspense in a unique and captivating way.

"Lavender Clouds" by Bex Ollerton is a moving collection of autobiographical comics that explores mental health and the struggle to make a difference while battling inner turmoil. The artwork is breathtaking, filled with vibrant colors and intricate details.

Through personal stories, Ollerton candidly depicts the emotional weight of living with mental health challenges. Despite the heaviness of the subject, there's a hopeful undertone that shines through. In essence, "Lavender Clouds" is a poignant reminder of resilience and the healing potential of self-expression through art.

Thank you to Netgalley the Publisher, of Dreamscape Media, and the author Katie Kennedy for providing and allowing me to review this Audio-ARC. Which, I'm giving my honest and sincere review.

"Hearts on Thin Ice" by Katie Kennedy is a delightful romantic novel that captured my heart from the very beginning. The story follows the journey of Nick Sorensen, a pro hockey player who is trying to get back on the ice after a devastating plane crash that took the lives of his best friends. Nick is physically ready to play, but mentally, he struggles to find his way and move on from the tragedy that haunts him.

What I loved most about this book is the way that Kennedy brings the characters to life. Nick is a complex and brooding character, whose struggles and vulnerabilities make him incredibly endearing. I found myself rooting for him from the start, hoping that he would find the strength to overcome his inner demons and find love and happiness once again. His interactions with Alyssa, the up-and-coming interior designer he hires to decorate his apartment, are both infuriating and heartwarming. Alyssa is a strong and independent woman who is determined to prove herself in her career and create a home for herself. The dynamic between Nick and Alyssa is electric, and I loved watching their relationship unfold throughout the book.

One of the things that stood out to me about this book is the way it explores important themes such as mental health, belonging, and finding one's place in the world. Kennedy handles these topics with sensitivity and grace, weaving them seamlessly into the story. As someone who has struggled with my own mental health, I appreciated the way the author portrayed Nick's journey towards healing and self-acceptance. It resonated with me on a personal level and made me feel seen and understood.

The romance in this book is swoon-worthy and had me grinning from ear to ear. Nick and Alyssa's banter and chemistry leap off the page, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see how their story would unfold. The tension and slow-burn romance between them kept me on the edge of my seat, and I was left feeling satisfied and fulfilled by the end.

Overall, "Hearts on Thin Ice" is a charming and heartwarming sports romance that tugs at the heartstrings and leaves a lasting impression. The well-developed characters, engaging plot, and poignant themes make it a must-read for fans of the genre. Katie Kennedy has crafted a beautiful love story that will stay with me long after I have finished reading it. I cannot recommend this book enough and will be eagerly anticipating more from this talented author in the future.

When I picked up "You Are Mine" by Vera Turner, I knew I was diving into a dark, twisted world, but I was not fully prepared for the gripping and intense experience that awaited me. This novella, labeled as a pitch-black stalker romance, takes you on a rollercoaster ride through obsession, manipulation, and a disturbing quest for control.

Summary: The story centers around Holly, affectionately yet tauntingly referred to as "my little Onion" by her stalker. In a desperate attempt to escape his clutches, Holly leaves her city apartment for a desolate town, hoping the isolation will offer her some protection. However, her stalker is determined and cunning, viewing Holly's move not as a setback but as a challenge to be overcome. The narrative is driven by his chilling steps to reclaim her: eliminating her boyfriend, punishing her for fleeing, and ultimately planning to keep her forever.

From the very beginning, I was hooked by the chilling premise. The idea that Holly's attempt at freedom would only lead her deeper into the stalker's control was both horrifying and fascinating. The stalker's perspective, presented in an eerily calm and methodical manner, added layers of psychological depth to the story. His obsession with Holly is unsettling, yet Vera Turner’s writing is so compelling that I couldn’t look away.

Review: "You Are Mine" is not for the faint of heart. The story is as dark as it gets, diving into themes of control, obsession, and psychological manipulation. Turner masterfully builds tension, making every step of the stalker's plan feel inevitable yet shocking. The rural setting, where Holly's screams would go unheard, adds to the sense of isolation and helplessness.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the book is the dynamic between Holly and her stalker. Holly is portrayed as resourceful and resilient, yet her strength is continuously tested by the relentless pursuit of her captor. This interplay keeps the reader on edge, rooting for Holly while simultaneously dreading what will come next.

The novella's pacing is brisk, which works well for the intensity of the plot. Each chapter leaves you wanting more, making it difficult to put the book down. Despite its dark themes, the story does promise a happily ever after (HEA), which provides a sliver of hope amidst the darkness. However, it's important to heed the trigger warnings, as the book delves into disturbing and potentially distressing territory.

Conclusion: Reading "You Are Mine" by Vera Turner was a harrowing yet enthralling experience. It's a novella that pulls no punches, immersing the reader in a world where freedom is fickle, and control is the ultimate goal. If you’re a fan of dark romance and psychological thrillers, this book will undoubtedly captivate you. Just be prepared for a story that challenges your comfort zone and lingers in your mind long after you’ve turned the last page.

With his sons held captive and time ticking away, Prince Mabon faces a desperate race against time. Failure means losing his sons forever and witnessing his wife endure a gruesome fate before his eyes.

As I immersed myself in the pages of "Wing Stroke," I was drawn into a world of revenge and change, where every twist and turn kept me on the edge of my seat. The gripping narrative goes beyond a simple quest for reclaiming a kingdom, delving into themes of recognition and survival in a world that refuses to acknowledge their existence.

I found myself captivated not only by the enchanting tale within its pages but also by the beauty of its cover. Adorned with intricate elements that hinted at the magic and mystery awaiting within, the cover served as an enticing invitation into the world of Leona and Jewel, two sisters with extraordinary powers passed down through generations. Living in the serene Appalachian town of Ames, where gossip flowed as freely as the nearby streams, I found myself drawn into a tale of mystery and magic.

As descendants of Granny Women, Leona, and Jewel possessed abilities that set them apart from their neighbors. Their connection to the supernatural realm granted them insight into a chilling murder that shook our community to its core, revealing layers of darkness hidden beneath the surface.

With each page turned, I journeyed alongside the sisters as they delved deeper into the mystery, encountering adversaries wielding malevolent magic. These sinister forces, coupled with their internal conflicts, posed a formidable challenge to their quest for justice and peace.

Throughout their journey, the sisters leaned on the wisdom of Granny Kay, a revered mentor, and found solace in the guidance of friendly spirits. Yet, it was their bond as sisters that proved to be their most potent weapon against the encroaching darkness. However, their insecurities and doubts threatened to undermine their efforts, risking not only their own lives but also the safety of our beloved town.

"Root and Bone" intricately woven together themes of familial loyalty, the struggle between light and dark, and the resilience of the human spirit. Jessica Raney's vivid prose transported me into a world where magic and mystery intersected, captivating me with each twist and turn of the narrative.

As the first installment in the Spencer Sisters series, "Root and Bone" set the stage for an epic saga filled with intrigue, danger, and the enduring power of sisterhood. I eagerly anticipate the next chapter in Leona and Jewel's extraordinary journey.
