I got an advance copy to review, thank you to BookSirens and the author Lauren Marcie for the opportunity to read this review is my sincere and personal opinion.
"Can't Hide Forever" by Lauren Marcie had me hooked from the very first page. This modern retelling of Jekyll and Hyde kept me on the edge of my seat with its blend of romance, mystery, and suspense.
In this gripping tale, Dr. Jackson Keller, also known as Hyde, leads a double life. By day, he's a respected therapist dedicated to helping others, but by night, his dark alter ego takes control, craving bloody vengeance. When Detective Ava, determined to hunt down the elusive Hyde, becomes his newest patient, their lives become intertwined in unexpected ways.
Marcie's writing style is captivating, drawing me into the characters' tumultuous lives with vivid descriptions and heart-pounding action. The dual point of view allows me to see the story unfold through both Jackson and Ava's eyes, adding depth and complexity to the narrative.
As I delved deeper into the story, I found myself torn between rooting for Jackson's redemption and fearing the consequences of his dark desires. Ava's relentless pursuit of justice added another layer of tension, as she grappled with her growing attraction to Jackson despite her suspicions about his involvement in the crimes she's investigating.
"Can't Hide Forever" is a thrilling read that explores themes of obsession, redemption, and the blurred lines between good and evil. With its gripping plot, well-developed characters, and atmospheric setting, it is sure to captivate readers looking for a dark and compelling romance. However, it's worth noting that the book contains mature content and is intended for adult readers only.
